The Holbrook Library provides access to a wide variety of research databases and resources provide by the Air Force, the Air Combat Command, and the State of South Dakota. Access to many of these resources are restricted to comply with licensing requirements.
The manner in which they can be accessed depend on the network you are connected to-- on-base or off-base locations. On-base locations in this context applies to the NIPR (military) network, and the QoLNet network available in on-base facilities. Residential connections whether on or off-base are considered to be off base in this discussion.
On-base: Refers to duty locations and on-base facilities (non-residential). Click on the On-Base link at the left for links to resources.
Off-base: Some resources can be accessed from the Air Force Portal with a valid account, or through our online catalog with a valid account. Links to the AF Portal are provided in the left and right margins.
- Air Force Portal. You must have a valid account and access to this portal is not controlled locally -- read more here. Once logged into the AF Portal, the primary online reference and research resources may be found at the ACC/AFSOC/AFGSC Library Program Research Center. To find this resource use the search engine on the portal, or go here for help. Additional reference resources are located on the top menu (mid-level) by selecting the Library option at the far right side. Some database links may be on the main pages, and additional resources can be found through the Reference Center option. Under the Reference Center option, a Databases option will be present and more resources may be found there. Note that the AF Portal requires an active CAC card for access as of 15 Jan 2010.
- Online Catalog. The Holbrook Library controls access to accounts, please contact us if you have access issues. Use the E-catalog button at the top of the page to access our online catalog. Log into your account using your library card number and PIN. On the top menu, the Online Reference Resources link will take you to the resources that are available.
