In coordination with Armed Forces Entertainment, the Mike Bliss Variety Show and Freedom Fest have been postponed until further notice

in an effort to protect the base population, traveling entertainment teams and AFE staff.

We will be actively working with AFE to reschedule both the concert and entertainment show for a future date.

FREEDOM FEST 2021

Air Force Entertainment (AFE) and the 28th Force Support Squadron are excited to bring Freedom Fest to the EAFB community on 26 August. This free concert at Dakota's features country music sensations Clay Walker and Jimmie Allen. FREE to everyone with base access--tickets are not required. Kick things off with the End of Summer Patio Party starting at 1700 with food trucks, kids zone, outdoor activities, games, DJ, and beer tent. Concert begins at 1900. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the show.

Air Force Entertainment (AFE) provides quality commercial entertainment to the military community which aims to foster and promote resiliency and build morale by offering relief from the challenges of military life in an environment where members can relax and unwind!

Other upcoming free AFE shows include Mike Bliss Variety Show on 18 August and Dave Coulier Comedy Show (18+) on 21 October.

Are tickets required?

No! This event is completely free to attend and tickets are not required for entry.

Who can attend?

Freedom Fest is open to everyone with base access including Active Duty Military, Dependents, Children, DoD Civilians, Retirees, and Guard Members who can access the installation.

Are pets allowed at this event?

For the health and safety of both pets and patrons alike, please keep your pets at home. No animals are allowed at this event.

Can we bring backpacks or coolers for beverages?

Patrons are welcome to bring their own non-alcoholic beverages along in a cooler. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased at the event to comply with installation regulations.

Will there be seating available?

Freedom Fest will be held outdoors behind Dakota’s patio and seating for the concert will not be provided. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome if you would like to create your own seating area.

Where should I park?

Parking is available at Dakota’s in their main lot and across Schriever Street in the overflow lot.  Additional parking is available at the BX and Med Group Lot. Click here for an event map.

Will there be ATM's available?

Freedom Fest will have food, beverages, and merchandise available for sale throughout the event. All food & beverage sales are CASH ONLY. Please plan accordingly. An ATM is located in the parking lot of the BX (ATM service fees may apply. Service is not affiliated with the 28th Force Support Squadron).



COVID Mitigation

Freedom Fest will adhere to current 28 BW mitigation measures and patrons are required to do the same. Anyone experiencing flu-like symptoms such as fever and coughing should stay home and not attend this event. Ellsworth leadership is continually monitoring the situation and working closely with the South Dakota Department of Health to coordinate prevention and response efforts in the local area. All information below is subject to change based on mission requirements and Ellsworth leadership will continue to push updated information via the base website (www.ellsworth.af.mil) and via the Ellsworth Air Force Base Facebook Page.

Social Distancing

Patrons are asked to practice social distancing and use the “six-foot rule" from others not in their immediate household.

Face Masks

Currently, face masks are not required at this event however please plan accordingly in the event this measure is implemented by the 28th BW.

Handwashing

Patrons are asked to practice proper handwashing techniques and maximizing the use of hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes where possible
